The Ordination of Subdeacon Constantine Katsilas
to the Holy Diaconate

On Sunday, February 15, 2004, His Eminence, Archbishop NATHANIEL celebrated the Divine Liturgy at Saint Raphael of Brooklyn Church in Detroit. 
Archdeacon David Oancea and Hierodeacon Iustin (Stoian) cense His Eminence as he is vested prior to the beginning of the Liturgy.

The deacons bring Subdeacon Constantine in front of the Archbishop who blesses him on the heard three times before they lead him into the altar.
The candidate is lead around the Holy Table three times, each time stopping to kiss the hand, omofor and shield of the ordaining hierarch.
The candidate takes his place at the corner of the Holy Table for the Prayers of Ordination.
His Eminence, assisted by the deacons, dresses the new deacon in his vestments.
"The servant of God, the Deacon Constantine, partakes of the Precious and Holy Blood of our Lord and God and Savior, Jesus Christ, for the remission of sins and for everlasting life. Amen."
The new deacon observes the preparation of Holy Communion for distribution to the faithful.
