Funeral Services for V Rev Fr Richard Grabowski
Warren, Ohio / Cleveland, Ohio / Grass Lake, Michigan
May 10-12, 2004

On Monday evening, May 10, 2004, a Wake Service (Sărăcustă) was served at Holy Resurrection Church in Warren, Ohio, where Fr Richard & Psa Hildegard have lived since retiring from active parish assignment in 1989.
His Eminence, Archbishop NATHANIEL officiated the service, assisted by Rev Fr Eugen Roşu, parish priest, V Rev Fr Panteleimon Stanciu, Dean of the Ohio & Western Pennsylvania Deanery, and other local and visiting clergy.

Fr Richard's body was then taken the next morning, Tuesday, May 11, 2004, to The Falling Asleep of the Ever Virgin Mary Cathedral in Cleveland, Ohio.  Fr Richard was parish priest there from 1982 until he retired from parish assignment in 1989.
His Grace, Bishop IRINEU celebrated the Hierarchal Divine Liturgy, assisted by Rev Fr Remus Grama, parish priest, and visiting clergy.

Following the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy, the Service for the Burial of a Priest was celebrated in the Cathedral by His Eminence, Archbishop NATHANIEL and His Grace, Bishop IRINEU, assisted by a sobor of clergy.
"Have mercy on us, O God, according to Your great mercy we pray You, hear us and have mercy."

On Wednesday, May 12, 2004, burial took place in the Saint Mary Cemetery at Vatra Romānească, Grass Lake, Michigan.  Here, the casket is carried to the grave by Fr Richard's sons and other close relatives.
