The 65th Anniversary of Holy Trinity Church

On the weekend of November 6-7, 2004, His Eminence, Archbishop NATHANIEL visited Holy Trinity Church in Los Angeles, on the occasion of the celebration of the parish's 65th Anniversary.  Vespers on Saturday evening took place at the site of the parish's future church and facilities in the suburban community of Sunland.
Those present gathered with the Archbishop and clergy for a group photograph.

On Sunday, November 7, the Hierarchal Divine Liturgy was celebrated by His Eminence, Archbishop NATHANIEL assisted by parish and visiting clergy.
Rev Frs Catalin Mitescu and William John Clark lead Subdeacon Iosif Bena up the main aisle to be ordained into the Holy Deaconate.
The candidate is taken around the Holy Table by his parish priest, V Rev Fr Constantin Alecse, and father-confessor, V Rev Fr Josiah Trenham of Saint Andrew (Antiochian) Church in Riverside, California.
The candidate kisses the omofor, shield and hand of the hierarch after each encircling.
The clergy and faithful kneel as the Prayer of Ordination is read by His Eminence, Archbishop NATHANIEL.
The new deacon is brought before the faithful.
"He is worthy!"
The hierarch and clergy vest the new deacon in his vestments.
The archbishop presents the fan to the new deacon, one of the signs of his office.
The faithful receive the Body and Blood of our Lord, Jesus Christ.
At the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy, Fr Alecse welcomes His Eminence, Archbishop NATHANIEL, his brother priests, and all parishioners and guests on this joyful occasion.
Later that afternoon, a banquet and program were held at the nearby Hilton Hotel-Glendale.
Hundreds of faithful attended the event.

Afterward, the attendees were treated to a program of Romanian music by David Cassapu, Laura Zavate-Dorman and Gabriel Vamvulescu....
....and traditional Romanian dancing into the evening.
