The 50th Anniversary of Saint George Church
Toronto, Ontario
September 25-26, 2004

On Saturday, September 25, 2004, His Eminence, Archbishop NATHANIEL and His Grace, Bishop IRINEU arrived at Saint George Church in Toronto, Ontario, for the celebration of the community's 50th Anniversary.
The hierarchs are greeted with the traditional bread and salt.
Rev Fr Ioan Bunea, parish priest, presents the Holy Gospel to Archbishop NATHANIEL.
Before the beginning of Great Vespers, a Memorial Service (Parastas) was served in memory of deceased members of the parish.
His Grace, Bishop IRINEU celebrated the services with His Eminence NATHANIEL in attendance.
Bishop IRINEU gives the final blessing.
Fr Bunea welcomes the hierarchs, visiting clergy and all the faithful in attendance.
Immediately following the Great Vespers service, a program of traditional Romanian and Byzantine music was presented by three choirs from the Toronto area.

On Sunday, September 26, 2004, the Hierarchal Divine Liturgy was celebrated.
The clergy greet the hierarchs at the church's entrance.
The Little Entrance is made with the Holy Gospel Book.
Clergy and faithful from throughout the Toronto area joined the community for this special celebration.
His Eminence NATHANIEL censes the faithful during the singing of the Cherubic Hymn.
Following the service, a festive banquet was held at a nearby banquet hall for hundreds of attendees, including several founding members of the parish.
The celebration continued into the night featuring dance groups, musicians, poets and singers.
A cake made especially for this joyous occasion.
