Michigan Deanery Annual Lenten Liturgy and ARFORA Retreat

On Saturday, April 16, 2005, the Michigan Deanery held its annual Lenten Liturgy and ARFORA Retreat, hosted this year by Saints Peter & Paul Church in Dearborn Heights, Michigan.
Deanery Clergy participating were: V Rev Fr Laurence Lazar, Dean of St George Cathedral in Southfield; Rev Fr Romey Rosco, host; Rev Fr George Carstea, St Nicholas Church in Troy; Rev Fr Anton Frunza, Annunciation Church in Walker/Grand Rapids; Rev Archdeacon David Oancea of the Hierarchal Chapel of The Nativity of the Ever Virgin Mary at Vatra Romānească in Grass Lake.

Leading the responses were: Rev Dn Cosmin Antonescu; Rev Dn Horaţiu Balanean, parish deacon; and Mr Mircea Vasiu, parish cantor.
The Communion of the faithful.
At the conclusion of the Liturgy, a memorial service was offered in memory of deceased hierarchs, clergy and faithful.
The ladies of the host parish provided a Lenten lunch for all those in attendance.
The theme of this year's retreat focused on evangelism in America.

Here, Deacon Antonescu makes the presentation in the Romanian language.

Father Frunza offered the presentation in the English language, focusing on his experience of going to a mission community, working with them to become a parish, and building a church complex.
