The Ordination of Rev Dn David Wey into the Holy Priesthood

On the weekend of January 14-16, 2005, His Eminence, Archbishop NATHANIEL visited Saints Constantine & Helen Church in Indianapolis, Indiana, to ordain parish Deacon David Wey into the Holy Priesthood.
Vespers was celebrated on Friday night by Rev Hieromonk Joseph (Morris), parish priest, Rev Fr John Schmidt, and Dn Wey with His Eminence NATHANIEL in attendance.

On Saturday morning, numerous local and visiting clergy await the arrival of His Eminence, Archbishop NATHANIEL, with the Holy Cross.
"Blessed is the Kingdom of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, now and ever and unto ages of ages."
His Eminence censing during the singing of the tropars.
Immediately after the Great Entrance, Dn David is taken to the back of the church by the deacons and brought forward to receive the blessing of the Archbishop and be taken into the Holy Altar for the ordination.
The candidate is taken around the Holy Table...
...kissing each corner...
...then reverencing the hierarch...
...and receiving his blessing.

During the Creed.
"We offer you your own of your own, in behalf of all and for all."
The consecration of the Holy Gifts.
The newly-ordained priest is given the Eucharist to guard until it is placed into the chalice.

Fr David reads the prayer behind the amvon.
Immediately following the dismissal, Fr David offered the Holy Cross to the faithful who came forward to receive his blessing.

A festive banquet followed in the social hall.

That evening, Great Vespers was celebrated in the presence of Archbishop NATHANIEL.
After venerating the icon, the faithful approached His Eminence to receive a blessing.

The Hierarchal Divine Liturgy was celebrated on Sunday morning.
During the reading of the Epistle.
"So that these together with us may glorify your all-honorable and magnificent name: of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, now and ever and unto ages of ages."
Censing during the singing of the Cherubic Hymn.
"Let us lift up our hearts!"
"And make this bread the Precious Body of your Christ."
The communion of the clergy.
"Let us be attentive!  Having partaken of the divine, holy, pure, immortal, heavenly and life-creating, fearful Mysteries of Christ, let us worthily give thanks to the Lord."
