Psa Eugenia Uşeriu Fallen Asleep in the Lord

Kula HI [ROEA Chancery]  –  Preoteasa Eugenia Uşeriu, wife of the late Rev Fr Anchidim Uşeriu, fell asleep in the Lord on Thursday morning, September 22, among her family in Hawaii.

The funeral service and interment will be at the Orthodox Monastery of the Transfiguration in Ellwood City, Pennsylvania, on Thursday, September 29, at 11:00am, officiated by His Grace, Bishop IRINEU.  She will be laid to rest next to her husband, Fr Anchidim, who preceded her in death in 1982.

Fr & Psa Uşeriu served the Episcopate for many years, their last parish being the Protection of the Mother of God in Falls Church, Virginia.  Psa Eugenia worked as a librarian at the Library of Congress, holding a Masters Degree in Library Science from the University of Pittsburgh and also a Master's Degree in Chemistry from Romania.  She was also an artist and iconographer.  For the last 10 years, she lived with her daughter and family in Hawaii.
