V Rev Fr Constantin Tofan Fallen Asleep in the Lord

[ROEA Chancery, 19 October 2006, Feast of the Prophet Joel] –  With great sadness, we report the falling asleep in the Lord of Archpriest Constantin Tofan, who passed away today at the age of 82 in a hospital in Denver, Colorado, after recent ill health.  Father Tofan served the Episcopate for 43 years in many capacities on the parochial and diocesan level, most recently at the Annunciation Parish in Montreal, Quebec, and as Chairman of the Episcopate’s Department of Missions.  Funeral services will be at Saint George Cathedral in Southfield, Michigan, and burial will take place in the Saint Mary Cemetery at Vatra Romaneasca in Grass Lake, Michigan.

Prooroc Ioil] –  Cu mare durere, anuntam trecerea la cele vesnice a Preotului Protopop Constantin Tofan, care s-a mutat de la noi astazi, avand venerabila varsta de 82 de ani, in spitalul din Denver, Colorado, in urma unei boli recente.  Pr Tofan a slujit Episcopia pentru 43 de ani avand multe sarcini la nivel parohial si eparhial, cel mai recent slujind Parohia Buna Vestire din Montreal, Quebec, fiind in acelasi timp si Presedintele Departamentului de Misiuni a Episcopiei.  Slujba de inmormantare va avea loc la Catedrala Sf Gheorghe din Southfield, Michigan, iar punerea in mormant va fi la Cimitirul Sf Maria, Vatra Romaneasca.
