Psa Olga Grigorescu Fallen Asleep in the Lord

Fremont CA [ROEA Chancery]  –  Doamna Preoteasa Olga Grigorescu (nee Ionescu) widow of Very Reverend Father Gheorghe Grigorescu fell asleep in the Lord on February 12, 2008, in San Jose (Fremont), California.  She was born in Scurtesti, Romania, on September 1, 1921.

Preoteasa had assisted her husband as he served the Holy Cross Mission Parish, San Jose, California. They were married in 1939.

The Grigorescu’s were accepted into the Episcopate in 1990 and assigned to the mission, “Holy Cross,” in San Jose, California, which Father served until he retired in 2000.

After the death of her husband, Preoteasa Olga was cared for by the family of Father and Preoteasa Constantin Lapustea until it was necessary to have more constant care given to her.

She is preceded in death by her husband who fell asleep in the Lord on October 7, 2005, in Fremont, California, and by their only child, Gabriel who died in 2002.  She is survived by her daughter-in-law Viorica and grandchildren Mihaela and Lucian.

The Service of the Burial of a Christian will be presided by Very Rev Fr Constantin Lapustea, Parish Priest of Holy Cross, and attending clergy. Burial will be next to Father Grigorie.
